TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF GREEN LANE/DROVE

Please note that BT's contractors have requested a temporary road closure of Green Lane between Smannell School and Little London from 23rd November for up to 3 months. We believe that this closure is to allow BT to install an underground cable duct from the BT box near Smannell School to the distribution box in Little London.

The purpose of this has not yet been confirmed but it is to be hoped that it will eventually result in improved telephone and broadband services for the Little London area. The contractors have clarified that the closure program will work progressively from one end to the other, closing only those parts of the road where digging and installation is actually taking place.

This closure will inevitably impact on businesses and people along the affected length of Green Lane and Woodhouse. Smannell Parish council will be working with our borough and county councillors, Hampshire Highways, TVBC and the contractors to try to ensure that reasonable access to your properties is preserved at all times throughout the duration of the work. If you have any urgent issues, please contact one of your parish councillors who will try to help.

We apologise for the short notice, but unfortunately the notice of closure was only sent to the Parish Council on 11th November.
